Is anyone else ready for Spring and Summer to come? I was hoping it would have been here yesterday... I think Corbin will second me on that one. With having a new baby and it being cold outside I think housetosis has taken on a new meaning. I have been trying to be creative with inside fun for him but I think he is catching on. He loves more than anything to be outside and its been a little tricky lately to distract him. I've been distracting him with finger painting, drawing, crafts, books, and anything else I can think of, but nothing does the trick like a good playground. When it has been even remotely warm outside we're there.
We actually took him bowling the other day because it would be easy to take Kayla there with us and he loved it! He made it to about the 8Th frame before he decided the video games behind us were more interesting. He is so independent. To his dismay he insisted on carrying the ball by himself. It felt good to finally get out of the house all together and go do something fun.
Corbin's favorite thing in the world to do is go horse riding with Nannie and Pappie. I have never seen him get so excited about doing anything. They have fun goats there to play with too. Corbin loved the goat but the goat didn't know what to think of Corbin. He loves playing with his cousin Sienna. They love being mischievious together. They are like two little peas in a pod. Every morning when he wakes up he asks to go play at Sienna, Mimi, Nicky, Brigham, and Raina's house.
You'll probably notice in the pictures the huge bump in the middle of Corbin's forehead. He has started this new thing of spinning in circles til he is super dizzy and then trying to walk. Well, he turned and fell right on the corner of our iron chair. A goose egg the size of a golf ball showed up in the middle of his forehead almost immediately. Ouch!
Kayla and Corbin are getting along great! It is so adorable when Corbin says Kayla's name. He would say Kate at first, but soon figured out how to say it correctly. Last night when we were trying to get Corbin to go to bed he tried to get her to save him. JP was carrying him out of the room while Kayla and I were laying on the bed. He looked back at us and knowing that I wanted him to go to bed too he yelled Kayla's name reaching out for her to save him. It was hilarious. He'll do anything to not go to bed at night.
Both Kayla and Corbin are growing like weeds. Corbin has grown out of all of his clothes recently and is now saying full sentences. Crazy! Kayla has a double chin and lots of fat rolls! I love chunky babies! There's just more of them to love.
Kayla is doing great! She is still eating, pooping, and of course sleeping. She has smiled a couple of times and will just sit and stare at you. She's so much fun to snuggle. She has a special grunting skill. She can be dead asleep and grunt out loud for hours. Try sleeping through that. It's trickier than you think. :)
Sleep? What's that? JP and I wouldn't know. Corbin is cutting his 2ND year molars and so between the two kids JP and I don't see much of our pillows.
Overall, it has been so much fun welcoming Kayla to our home. I'm not going to lie and say it has been a piece of cake, but it's so worth it. We love our little family and are so grateful for the joy our children have brought into our lives. We can't imagine life without them.
