I'm not sure why it has taken us so long to join the blogging world, but here goes nothing. I can't promise that I will be diligent in keeping it updated but I will do my best. It's sort of like every year when I recommit to write in my journal and then at the end of the year there are only three entries. I can only say that I have good intentions.
Well, first and foremost Kayla Joy Giles is here!!! I can't say being pregnant is one of my favorite things, but the prize at the end makes it more than worth it. She is a doll. The delivery was a little scary because the cord was wrapped around her neck twice. Therefore, every time I had a contraction her heart rate would plummet. They rushed the doctor in and the nurse was preparing to deliver the baby in case he didn't make it there in time. He made it soon after and did an amazing job! He has delivered over 8,000 babies so we felt confident that he would. We sort of feel spoiled because she is such a good baby. Although we feel like we need to pinch her every once in awhile to just make sure she knows how to cry. My mom, mother-in-law and sister Becca have been by my side constantly helping us with the adjustment from one to two kids. Words could not express my gratitude to them for all they have done. I sneeze and they wipe my nose. How could you ask for more than that? For those of you who don't know Becca and her family have moved home from Seattle. They are now living about two miles away from JP and I's town home. We love being so close to them. Corbin is doing great with his new baby sister. At first he didn't want a thing to do with her, but now he can't get enough kisses. He is learning very quickly what it means to be soft. JP is super busy with school, work, and home, but somehow makes it all work. He is an amazing father and husband. Overall, we're all doing great, and so grateful for the new addition to the family.
Amber, you're like me! I started a scrapbook many years ago made up of all my first few journal entries from various journals over the years!!!!! But you're ahead of me on starting a family blog! It looks fabulous and your family is beautiful. I love you.
